Have Space in your Garden or Lawn for more veggies?

June 20, 2012

Do you have space in your garden or lawn to care for some beautiful vegetable seedlings?

On June 19th, the Garden Gleaning Project visited Shady Acres farm outside of Chaska, MN.  Shady Acres has made an incredible
contribution to the Garden Gleaning Project and the food shelves we serve.  We now have 32 flats of heirloom vegetable and herb seedlings and these are available to any gardeners in Hennepin county interested in caring for them and donating a portion of the harvest to one of our partnering food shelves.

There is a fantastic variety of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, broccolis, cauliflowers, basils,  tomatillos and much much more.

In 2012, our partner food shelves include Waite House (South Minneapolis), Little Kitchen (North East Minneapolis),  CEAP (Brooklyn Park), STEP (St. Louis Park), and CAPI (South Minneapolis).

If you have space and are interested in caring for a portion of these seedlings, please contact
