Growing the Local Food Economy

I want to let you all know about an upcoming event here in the Twin Cities called

Fresh Choices: Growing the Local Food Economy

which will be put on by the Minneapolis League of Women Voters.  The event will be held this Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Plymouth Congregational Church which is located at 1900 Nicollet Ave (at Franklin)  from 5:30 pm to 9:30 PM with exhibits at 5:30 & 9:00 PM along with a program from 7:00 – 9:00 PM

There will be  tasty food samples provided by One Dish at a Time, Birchwood Café, Common Roots, Bryant Lake Bowl, Sen Yai Sen Lek, Chowgirls, Brasa, and Right on Thyme, along with coffee by Peace Coffee.  

While you’re enjoying your snacks you can visit with various organizations that are involved in our food community here in the Twin Cities.  At The Minnesota Project exhibit you will have the opportunity to learn more about some of our initiatives including Fruits of the City, and our Local Foods ProgramThe Garden Gleaning Project will also be there.

Along with some great food and an opportunity to learn more about organizations in the area, there will be a stimulating group of speakers talking on a variety of aspects of our local food economy.

We are looking forward to an informative and fun evening and hope you will join us!  Thank you Minneapolis League of Women Voters for making this event happen!
