Minnesota Cooks at the State Fair is Coming Up!

July 12, 2010

Minnesota Cooks event at the state fair is a Minnesota tradition- and a fun one! The Minnesota Cooks program consists of eight 45-minute shows with top chefs from Minnesota demonstrating their talents and interacting with various emcees who interview the Minnesota farmers who produced the food, as well as local celebrity tasters. They also put out a fabulous calendar.  HFN and the local food program at The Minnesota Project proudly partners with Minnesota Cooks on these projects, and in general connecting farmers with chefs and other users of local food in Minnesota to build the demand for local food.

Jill Grunewald, Program Manager for Minnesota Cooks, recently wrote us:

We have very few weeks left on our Minnesota Cooks fundraising! Please help us bring this legendary event to the State Fair on Aug. 31 and keep our beautiful, engaging, Minnesota Cooks calendar (a mini cookbook!) on the printing press.

We have JUICY REWARDS – Check ’em out.

Razoo/GiveMN is a TRUSTED SITE! And Razoo covers transaction costs so that 100% of donations go directly to Minnesota Cooks. Cool, right?

Minnesota Cooks is one of Minnesota’s premier local and sustainable foods events and addresses consumers’ increasing concern about where their food comes from and who produces it.

We have the ongoing support of some of Minnesota’s top media, including Star Tribune, Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine, and AM950 KTNF.

To whet your whistle for Aug. 31, here is a photo collage from our 2009 event. We also have a new online radio show! Here is the first of three interviews with just some of our amazing farmers and chefs – the second one airs this Saturday and the last one in August.

Please support us in educating folks about farm-fresh healthy choices. – http://www.razoo.com/story/Minnesota-Cooks-2010-1
