Training Course for Anaerobic Digestion of Dairy Manure Planned for World Dairy Expo

The World Dairy Expo, taking place September 29th through October 3rd, is a great opportunity for dairy industry participants to gather to make new connections and learn about developments in the industry. This year’s Expo is located at the madison Concourse Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin and features a unique opportunity for attendees to learn more about on-farm anaerobic digestion. Dr. Robert Burns and Mrs. Lara Moody of the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department at Iowa State University are coordinating a two-day training course September 28th and 29th in conjunction with the World Dairy Expo. Participants will learn the latest information and resources including: digester economics, available resources, pre-digestion sand-manure seperation, use of BMPs, biogas utilization options, carbon credits, and current digester funding opportunities.     There seem to be very few courses in AD, and this course appears to have been a great and very practical course for those keen to set up heir own plant.
