Jen Blecha to speak at upcoming Local Foods Happy Hour 4/21

Are you interested in discussing Local Foods with others from around the Twin Cities? Are you interested in hearing about the Minnesota Project’s new Fruits program?

April’s Local Food Happy Hour will take place next Tuesday, April 21st at Common Roots Cafe from 5 to 7pm (2558 Lyndale Ave. S, Minneapolis).

The conversation this month will highlight The Minnesota Project’s new Fruits of the City program. Jennifer Blecha will briefly present our new initiatives to help city residents and community groups plant fruit trees and orchards, care for existing fruit trees and glean otherwise-wasted fruit for food banks.

The Local Foods Happy Hour typically meets on the third Tuesday each month, usually at Common Roots. Organized by a small group of volunteers, it is a chance for people working in this field to come together and connect. To join the mailing list, write

Free street parking and parking to the north of building

Lots of bike parking, bus #4 and U of M routes 113 and 115 stop outside the door
